Eric Lie is a living legend in Suriname. He is infamous for his great love of women and his hunting trips in the rainforest and is highly respected as one of the most highly educated taekwondo grandmasters in the world.
But for writer Karin Amatmoekrim, he is above all the father whose absence was a defining presence in her life. She met him for the first time when she was 22 but never truly dared to let him in. Now, for her book, she goes on a hunt for the man behind the mythical stories, hoping to find her father.
